Born in Marrakech 1953, he studied filmmaking at FEMISE Paris 1989. Among his critically acclaimed films Adieu Forain that won the jury award at Fourth Forum of Arab Cinema in Paris 1998, Le Cheval de Vent that won King Hassan II Price at Rabat Festival 2002, Tarfaya Bab Lbhar that won the Grand Prix at Brussels Independent Film Festival 2005, En attendant Pasolini that won Best Arab Film Award at Cairo Film Festival 2007, La Mosquée that won Best Director Award at Tarifa African Festival in Spain, 2011.
